Penanjong Garrison, Thursday, 7th November, 2019 – A total of 42 personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Navy, Royal Brunei Airforce, Ministry of Defence, Royal Brunei Police Force and Fire and Rescue Department concluded their Elementary English Language Course Serial 2/2019 today with the presentation of certificates at the Evolution Centre, Training Institute RBAF. The Guest of Honour who presented the certificates to the course participants was Major Dyg Siti Nur'Afiqah Binti Hj Awg Morsidi, Officer Commanding of the Evolution Centre Training Institute RBAF.
The 4- week long course serves as a platform to provide participants with the fundamental English language skills needed to excel in their current professions as well as a stepping stone for the upcoming Intermediate English Course. The course aimed to enhance the basic speaking, reading and writing skills of the course participants which will ultimately improve their overall communicative skills. In her closing remark, the Guest of Honour, highlighted on the increasing importance of English language in our current time be it on the personal or professional level. Hence, she urged the course participants to continue their efforts to learn and practice the language even after they have completed the course. She also touched upon the importance of young army personnel especially those ranking Lance Corporal and Private to lead a healthy life free of any prohibited substance abuse. The Best Student Award was claimed by 21936 Pte Dk Nur Hanis binti Pg Ja'afar while 51524 Ordinary Rate Mohammad Abd Rajif bin Hj Kaseh was awarded the Most Improved Student Award.
